This tour covers some popular national parks with exciting game drives, trekking, cycling, hiking and whitewater rafting excursions. Also, you will get a chance to enjoy camping in Yala National Park with an excellent BBQ dinner.


Having arrived in Sri Lanka you will be greeted by your chauffeur guide at the airport itself. Take a leisurely drive to Waskaduwa and check in to your hotel (Approx. 2 hrs. drive). Recover any Jetlag, relax and spend your time at leisure. Relax by the pool; enjoy some of the finest watersports available at the hotel.

After a good night’s sleep and an early breakfast, you will do a guided boat ride in primitive depths of the mangrove marshes in Madu River.


BALAPITIYA BOAT RIDE (MADU GANGA) – Balapitiya is famous for the unique beauty of Madu Ganga & the nature on a boat trip. It is located in Mangrove vegetation lines the river beds and occasional islets emerge as the river flows into the sea. Further upstream, you can see kraal-fishing constructions and fishermen making their way in rowing boats to collect their day’s catch. The occasional blue kingfisher flies in the vicinity of the kraal, a pond heron stands tall in the water and other wetland birds have arisen from their slumber. This site is an ecological asset that harbors many wetland vegetation types as well as a variety of fauna, including a number of globally and nationally threatened or endangered species.This ride gives you several memorable experiences and the natural fish therapy from hundreds of fish, is one of them.


Afterwards you will be driven to Sinharaja – which is the only UNESCO World Heritage Rain Forest in Sri Lanka with bio diversity and a vegetation of tropical evergreen(Approx. 3 hrs. drive).


In the afternoon you can proceed with a guided trekking tour in the Sinharaja Rainforest.


SINHARAJA RAIN FOREST– Sinharaja rain forest is a UNESCO world heritage site. This Tropical Wet Evergreen Forest is undoubtedly a rich treasure trove of nature with a great diversity of habitats and a vast repository of endemic species. Bird Watching in this ecosystem is particularly interesting because it is home to 95% of the endemic birds of Sri Lanka. This lowland evergreen rain forest is steeped in deep legend and mystery. The word ‘Sinharaja’ means, Lion (Sinha) King (Raja), and it is popular belief that the legendary origin of the Sinhala people is the union between a princess and the lion king who once lived in the forest. You will be privileged to learn of geology, plant lives & animal lives during the trekking with a naturalist.

Awake on your third day and after a delicious breakfast you will be moved to Udawalawe – a famous for Sri Lankan Elephants, which are relatively hard to see in its open habitats (Approx. 3 hrs. drive).

Late afternoon you will experience a game drive in the National Park.


Half Day Safari at Udawalawe National Park – Half Day Game drive to Udawalawe National Park is a 3-hours game viewing opportunity with Beyond Escapes Safari Team. This National Park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir. It lies on the boundary of Sri Lanka’s wet and dry zones. Udawalawe is famous for Sri Lankan Elephants, which are relatively hard to see in its open habitats. Many Elephants are attracted to the park because of the reservoir.  Other than the Elephants, the park is home to water Buffalo, water Monitor Lizards, Sambar Deer, Monkeys and the occasional Leopard, as well as it is an exciting location for Bird enthusiasts.

Having explored Udawalawe yesterday, today you can get back to focusing on Sri Lanka’s most gratifying wildlife reserve – Yala National Park(Approx. 2 hrs. drive).


Upon arrival in Yala, we will go to a luxury campsite where we will spend your overnight.

Late afternoon, you can enjoy a game drive at Yala National Park wherebest opportunity to catch and see wildlife (and, in particular, birds) in large numbers with our resident naturalist!


HALF DAY SAFARI AT YALA NATIONAL PARK – Half Day Game drive to Yala National Park is a 3-hours game viewing opportunity with Beyond Escapes Safari Team. Yala is home to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird species. Among its more famous residents are the world’s biggest concentration of leopards. The leopards are more elusive and primarily nocturnal in other countries but are easier to spot in Sri Lanka than any other place in the world. Elephant, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Hanuman Langur, Toque Monkey, Stripe-necked and Ruddy Mongooses, Wild Boar, Golden Jackal, Land and Water Monitor and Marsh Crocodile can be seeing during your Safari. We provide light refreshments and water bottles during the safari.


Arrive back to your campsite once the safari finished.


Enjoy a memorable four course BBQ dining experience in the wild with chilled beer. The location will be lit with fire torches or lanterns whilst the chef is preparing your BBQ at a corner of the location. Food will be served by one of our well-trained table attendants whilst you are enjoying a chilled beer with BBQ.

Enjoy a late breakfast after a restful overnight sleep,escape the heat and head inland up to the mountains of Sri Lanka, to the Hill Country – Ella, a lovely sleepy hill town! (Approx. 3 hrs. drive).


Upon arrival, explore Ella with your guide & capture breathtaking views to get back home! You will cover Ella gap – with stunning, and on a clear night you can even spy the subtle glow of the Great Basses lighthouse on Sri Lanka’s south coast;

Little Adam’s peak – which is an easy hike very close to Ella town that still provides breathtaking views&Ravana waterfall –  awe-inspiringmagical fountain!

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel you will be driven to Horton Plains – a UNESCO World Heritage site, before enjoying a guided walk to scout for wildlife as you journey to ‘World’s End.’ (Approx. 2 hrs. drive).


TREKKING AT HORTON PLAINS – Make a pre-dawn start with a packed breakfast to Horton Plains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and take a guided walk along the nature trails to a viewpoint known as World’s End. A variety of wildlife including endemic Rhino-horned and Hump-nosed Lizards, highland bird species including the Sri Lanka White-eye, Dull-blue Flycatcher, Sri Lanka Bush Warbler, Yellow-eared Bulbul may be encountered. Also, keep your eye out for troops of Bear Monkey, and Sambar (Sri Lanka’s largest species of deer) which are regularly seen on the plains close to the entrance.


Later driven to the country side of Nuwara Eliya (Approx. 1 hr. drive); surpassing misty blue hills, ever green mountains, tea carpeted valley, beautifully cascaded waterfalls breaking down into a series of mini waterfalls, silvery clouds capping the mountain peaks designs unique and magical scenery through your window seat.

Your day begins with a drive inland towards Kitulgala – which is well-known for adventure activates (Approx. 3 hrs. drive).

On arrival, you can enjoy a whitewater rafting at Kelani River.


WHITE WATER RAFTING – Whitewater rafting in Kelani river does not require a higher degree of rafting skills or swimming experience. This thrilling adventure ride is suitable even for the people who are experimenting it for the first time as the rapids of Kalani River are graded with 2 and 3. Some of the rapids are named with unique names such as Virgin’s Breast, Killer Falls, Butter Crunch and Head Chopper. Be ready to swim in the river whilst enjoying this wonderful ride along one of the most picturesque rivers in the country.


Late afternoon, you can enjoy a cycling tour in the village of Kitulgala, where you will experience the different aspect of nature.


CYCLING TO BELILENA CAVE – Cycling to Belilena Cave in Kitulgala is a great way to experience the nature and the rural village lifestyles. Located up a steep path on a hillside close to the town of Kitulgala, The Belilena Cave is the place where 12,000 years old skeletal remains of “Balangoda man” were found. This mankind was given a scientific name of ‘HomosapiensBalangodensis’. Fossils believed to be approximately 32,000 years old have been found in recent archaeological excavations. Belilena Cave’s damp and dark depths are famed for the thousands of bats that have taken up residence in the cave’s cool interior, and they flit about seemingly haphazardly, in the discomforting beam of your torchlight. Colorful butterflies can be seen dancing around the entrance to the cave.
